Where Were Lucky and Justice Taking a Road Trip to in Poetic Justice?

In the movie Poetic Justice, Lucky and Justice embark on a road trip to Oakland, California. The film, directed by John Singleton, tells the story of two individuals who are dealing with their own personal struggles while trying to find love.

The Journey Begins
At the start of the movie, we see Lucky and Justice working at a hair salon in Los Angeles. Lucky is a postman and Justice is a poet.

They both have experienced loss in their lives and are struggling to cope with it. Lucky lost his girlfriend in a drive-by shooting, while Justice lost her boyfriend in a violent robbery.

The Road Trip

To escape their troubles, they decide to take a road trip up north to Oakland. The journey takes them through various cities and towns in California, including Bakersfield and Sacramento. Along the way, they meet various people who impact their lives and help them grow as individuals.

  • Chicago – A friend of Lucky’s who is also a postman. Chicago teaches Lucky about responsibility and how to be a better man.
  • Iesha – A woman they meet at a restaurant in Bakersfield who is having relationship problems with her boyfriend.
  • Lucky’s Cousin – They stay with Lucky’s cousin in Oakland who is having financial problems.

Oakland

Once they reach Oakland, they attend a family barbecue where they meet Lucky’s cousin’s wife and children. At the barbecue, we see the characters let go of their worries for a moment and enjoy each other’s company.

The Hair Show

The main reason for their trip was to attend a hair show where Justice was going to perform her poetry. At the hair show, we see Justice express her emotions through her poetry and receive applause from the audience.

The Final Scene

In the final scene of the movie, we see Lucky and Justice return to Los Angeles. They have grown as individuals and have found love in each other.

In Conclusion
The road trip from Los Angeles to Oakland was an important journey for Lucky and Justice. It allowed them to escape their troubles, meet new people, and grow as individuals. The journey also allowed them to find love in each other, which was a beautiful ending to the movie Poetic Justice.
