Which Cruise Ship Has a Zipline?

By Michael Ferguson

Cruise ships are known for providing guests with a variety of activities, including swimming pools, rock-climbing walls, mini-golf courses, and other attractions. One of the newest additions to the lineup of cruise ship activities is the zipline. A zipline is a type of ride in which a rider is suspended on a cable by a harness and propelled by gravity over a long distance.

Royal Caribbean’s Quantum Class ships were the first to feature ziplines as part of their onboard amenities. The Quantum Class ships include Anthem of the Seas, Ovation of the Seas, and Harmony of the Seas.

The ziplines on these ships are located at The Perfect Storm waterpark area and offer guests an exhilarating ride that reaches speeds up to 20 mph. Riders must be at least 48 inches tall to ride the zipline, and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Carnival Cruise also offers a zipline experience on some of its ships. Their version is called SkyRide and is available on select Carnival cruises including Carnival Breeze, Carnival Vista, and Carnival Horizon.

The SkyRide offers two parallel tracks that riders can compete against one another on while enjoying stunning views from up above the ship’s deck. Riders must meet a minimum height requirement of 42 inches in order to enjoy this attraction.

Norwegian Cruise Line has recently added ziplines to their Norwegian Escape ship as part of their Waterfront area attractions. This zipline takes riders over an open-air course that spans 800 feet across 3 decks while offering spectacular views out to sea. Riders must be at least 48 inches tall in order to participate in this thrilling adventure.

Conclusion: Cruise ships have become even more exciting with the addition of thrilling attractions like ziplines! Royal Caribbean’s Quantum Class ships offer guests a unique experience with their onboard ziplines, while Carnival Cruise’s SkyRide allows riders to compete against one another for an adrenaline rush.

Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Escape has recently added its own version of a zipline over an open-air course spanning 3 decks while offering stunning views out to sea.
