Which Disney Resort Has the Best Pool?

By Michael Ferguson

If you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World, then you’ll definitely want to spend some time lounging by the pool. But with so many resorts to choose from, which one has the best pool? In this article, we’ll take a look at some of the top contenders and help you make an informed decision.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

One of the newest resorts on Disney property, Art of Animation is home to four different pools. The main feature is the Big Blue Pool, which is themed after Finding Nemo and boasts underwater speakers that play music. There’s also a Little Mermaid-themed pool for younger kids and two additional pools themed after The Lion King and Cars.

Pros:

  • Great theming
  • Underwater music
  • Frequent character appearances

Cons:

  • Can be crowded
  • No hot tubs

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

The Polynesian is known for its lush tropical atmosphere and beautiful sandy beaches. But it also has one of the most impressive pools on property – the Lava Pool.

This massive pool features a towering volcano that periodically erupts with water and smoke effects. There’s also a nearby hot tub for those looking to relax.

Pros:

  • Incredible theming
  • Lava effects are mesmerizing
  • Nearby hot tub

Cons:

  • No slides or other water features
  • Closes early compared to other resorts (8 PM)

Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts

These sister resorts share a massive pool complex known as Stormalong Bay. This sandy-bottomed pool features a lazy river, a waterslide, and even a shipwreck replica that doubles as a hot tub. It’s also conveniently located near Epcot, making it easy to take a midday break and return to the parks later.

Pros:

  • Lots of water features
  • Sandy bottom makes it feel like a beach
  • Convenient location near Epcot

Cons:

  • Can be crowded
  • Noisy due to nearby entertainment at night

The Verdict:

So which resort has the best pool? As with most things at Disney, it depends on what you’re looking for.

If you want impressive theming and unique water features, then Art of Animation and Polynesian are both great choices. If you want lots of options for fun in the sun, then Yacht and Beach Club is the way to go.

No matter which resort you choose, though, you’re sure to have a splashing good time!
