Who Gets Invited to Bridal Shower for Destination Wedding?

By Robert Palmer

A bridal shower is a celebration for the bride-to-be, and is typically held a few weeks or months before the wedding. It’s an opportunity for the bride to feel special and to celebrate with her closest friends and family.

In recent years, destination weddings have become increasingly popular. The question then becomes, who gets invited to a bridal shower for a destination wedding?

The Bride’s Closest Friends. The bride’s closest friends are usually invited to the bridal shower. This could include her bridesmaids, her sorority sisters, or her best friends from school and college. These people are usually near and dear to the bride’s heart, so it’s important that they be included in the festivities.

The Bride’s Family. The bride’s family should also be invited to the bridal shower. This includes her parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. If there are any close family friends that have been like family over the years they should also be considered for an invitation as well.

Destination Wedding Guests. Depending on how close they are to the bride and groom, some of the guests attending the destination wedding may also be invited to the bridal shower. This could include close friends of both sides of the family as well as some of their co-workers or other acquaintances that will be attending the wedding.

Local Friends & Family. For those who live in small towns or rural areas who can’t attend the destination wedding due to travel costs or work commitments may still want to celebrate with their friend or family member at a local bridal shower. This would give them an opportunity to show their love and support for their friend or family member even though they won’t be able to make it on their special day.

Conclusion:

Who gets invited to a bridal shower for a destination wedding depends largely on how close they are with both sides of the couples’ families as well as how much time and money they are able and willing to spend on traveling expenses in order to attend both events. Generally speaking though, those closest to both sides of families such as parents, siblings, grandparents, close friends and co-workers should all receive invitations if possible in order for them all can join in on celebrating this special occasion together!
