Who Is Current Minister of Tourism?

In India, the Ministry of Tourism is responsible for promoting tourism and providing support to stakeholders in the industry. The current Minister of Tourism is Prahlad Singh Patel.

Prahlad Singh Patel:
Prahlad Singh Patel was born on June 28, 1960, in Narsinghpur, Madhya Pradesh. He completed his education from Barkatullah University in Bhopal. He joined politics at a young age and has been associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since then.

Political Career:
Prahlad Singh Patel started his political career as a member of the student wing of BJP called Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Later, he became the President of BJP’s Madhya Pradesh Youth Wing. In 1996, he was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) from Damoh constituency in Madhya Pradesh for the first time.

During his tenure as an MP, he has held several positions such as Member of Committee on Agriculture and Member of Committee on Estimates. He has also been a part of various parliamentary delegations to countries like Nepal, Thailand, and Singapore.

Ministry Of Tourism:
In May 2019, Prahlad Singh Patel was appointed as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism in the Union Council of Ministers led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As the Minister of Tourism, he is responsible for promoting tourism in India and providing support to stakeholders in the industry.

During his tenure as the Minister of Tourism, Patel has launched several initiatives to promote tourism such as Swadesh Darshan Scheme and PRASAD Scheme. These schemes aim to develop tourism infrastructure and promote cultural exchange in the country.
