At present, Prahlad Singh Patel is serving as the Minister of Tourism in India.

Who Is Prahlad Singh Patel?

Prahlad Singh Patel was born on June 28, 1960, in a small village called Bamhani in Narsinghpur district of Madhya Pradesh. He completed his graduation from Sagar University and started his political career as an ABVP activist during his college days. Later on, he became associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and held various positions within the party.

In 1996, he was elected to the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Narsinghpur constituency for the first time. He has been re-elected from the same constituency four times in a row since then. During his tenure as an MLA, he held several important portfolios such as Minister of State for Gas Relief and Rehabilitation, Minister of State for Culture and Tourism.

In 2014, he contested Lok Sabha elections from Betul constituency and won by a huge margin. In May 2019, he was appointed as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet.
