The investigation into who these individuals were and what their motive may have been quickly became a media sensation. It was revealed that the suspects had been partying with Ashley on board the ship prior to her death and that they had been seen leaving her cabin shortly before she was found dead.

Investigators also discovered that the individuals had purchased large amounts of alcohol prior to boarding the ship, indicating that they may have been planning something sinister from the start. Additionally, CCTV footage showed them carrying what appeared to be weapons onto the ship.

The evidence against them was overwhelming and it seemed clear that they were responsible for Ashley’s death.
