Who Owns Camelback Resort in PA?

By Alice Nichols

Camelback Resort is one of the most popular destinations in Pennsylvania, attracting visitors from all over the world. The resort offers a wide range of activities, including skiing, snowboarding, tubing, hiking, and water parks. With its stunning location and top-notch facilities, it’s no wonder that Camelback Resort is a favorite among tourists.

So, who owns Camelback Resort? The answer is a bit complicated as there are multiple entities involved.

Firstly, the resort itself is owned by EPR Properties. EPR Properties is a real estate investment trust that owns several entertainment and leisure properties across the United States. They purchased Camelback Resort in 2018 for $69 million.

However, EPR Properties does not manage the day-to-day operations of the resort. That task falls on Camelback Resort LLC. This company oversees everything from ski lifts to hotel reservations to food service.

Camelback Resort LLC is owned by Arthur Berry III and Ken Ellis. Arthur Berry III has been involved with Camelback Resort since 2005 when he became a partner in CBH2O LLC, which was an earlier iteration of Camelback Resort LLC. Ken Ellis joined as a partner in 2013.

Both Berry and Ellis have extensive experience in the hospitality industry. Before joining Camelback Resort LLC, Berry worked for Marriott International and also managed several other ski resorts around North America. Ellis has also worked in various hospitality roles throughout his career.

In addition to EPR Properties and Camelback Resort LLC’s ownership structure, there are also several other companies that operate within the resort itself. For example, Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark and Kalahari Resorts operate water parks within the resort complex.

Overall, while EPR Properties technically owns Camelback Resort, it’s Arthur Berry III and Ken Ellis who are responsible for making sure everything runs smoothly on-site. Their extensive experience in hospitality management has helped make Camelback Resort one of the premier destinations in Pennsylvania.
