By Anna Duncan

If you are looking for a luxurious and elegant resort getaway in Wisconsin, The Abbey Resort is a top choice. Located on the shores of Geneva Lake, this resort offers stunning views and world-class amenities.

However, one question that often comes up is – Who Owns the Abbey Resort? Let’s find out.

The Beginnings of The Abbey Resort

The Abbey Resort was originally built in 1963 by Hugh and Jack Fitzpatrick. It quickly became a popular destination for visitors seeking a lakeside retreat. However, in 1981, the resort suffered a devastating fire that destroyed much of the property.

Change in Ownership

Following the fire, The Abbey Resort was rebuilt and reopened under new ownership in 1985. James A. Bozeman Jr., a businessman from Atlanta, Georgia, purchased the property.

In 2005, the resort was sold once again to The Kor Group, a real estate development firm based in Los Angeles. The Kor Group invested heavily in renovating and expanding the resort’s facilities, including adding new restaurants and spa services.

Current Ownership

Today, The Abbey Resort is owned by Arbor Lodging Partners, a Chicago-based hotel investment and management company. Arbor Lodging acquired the property in 2018 from The Kor Group.

Under Arbor Lodging’s ownership, The Abbey Resort has continued to thrive as one of Wisconsin’s premier resorts. In addition to its stunning location on Geneva Lake, visitors can enjoy amenities such as an indoor pool and hot tubs, fitness center, full-service spa, multiple dining options and more.

Conclusion

So who owns The Abbey Resort? Currently owned by Arbor Lodging Partners since 2018 after being purchased from The Kor Group who bought it back in 2005. Regardless of ownership changes over time though it remains one of Wisconsin’s top resorts with world-class amenities, stunning views, and a rich history.
