The Cruise Ship Galaxy first set sail in 1986 as part of Royal Caribbean’s Sovereign class. It was even featured in several movies, including “Titanic” and “The Love Boat”.

The ship was sold to Norwegian Cruise Line in 2000 and renamed “Norwegian Majesty”. While under NCL’s ownership, it underwent extensive renovations to bring it up to modern standards.

The vessel was then sold again in 2008 to Oceania Cruises and renamed “Oceania Majesty”. During this time, several new features were added including a spa, an infinity pool and expanded dining options.

The Oceania Majesty had a successful stint with Oceania Cruises until 2015 when it was again sold to Pullmantur Cruises and renamed “Horizon”. While under Pullmantur’s ownership, it underwent a major refurbishment that included new restaurants, cabins and public spaces.

In 2018, Pullmantur Cruises went into bankruptcy and the Horizon was once again put up for sale. After being acquired by SkySea Cruises in 2019, the vessel was renamed “SkySea Golden Era” as part of their fleet.
