Did Someone Fall Off the Mardi Gras Cruise Ship?

On Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021, passengers and crew aboard the Mardi Gras Cruise Ship experienced a terrifying incident. Reports are unclear as to what exactly happened but it appears someone may have fallen off the ship.

Passengers on the ship reported that they heard a loud splash and saw someone in the water. Several people on board threw life preservers and life vests into the ocean in an attempt to help whoever was in the water. The Coast Guard and local harbor patrol were called to respond to the incident.

Initial reports indicated that there was no one in the water when authorities arrived on scene but further investigation is ongoing. The Coast Guard dispatched a search vessel to look for any signs of debris or remains that may indicate someone had gone overboard.
