How Far Is Seattle Airport to Cruise Ship Terminal?

By Robert Palmer

The Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, more commonly known as Sea-Tac Airport, is the primary airport serving the Seattle metropolitan area. It is located about 20 miles south of downtown Seattle.

The airport services many domestic and international flights and is a hub for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. From Sea-Tac Airport, travelers can easily get to the cruise ship terminal in downtown Seattle via taxi, light rail or bus.

The most efficient way to get from the airport to the cruise terminal is by taxi. Taxis are readily available outside of all terminals at Sea-Tac Airport 24 hours a day. The cost will vary depending on traffic conditions, but it should take no more than 30 minutes to reach the cruise ship terminal by taxi.

Another option is to take the Link light rail from Sea-Tac Airport to downtown Seattle. The light rail has two stations at the airport—the International Boulevard/Airport Station and the Angle Lake Station—and travels directly into downtown Seattle in about 40 minutes. From there, it’s just a short walk or ride to Pier 66 or Pier 91, where most of Seattle’s cruise ships depart from.

Finally, travelers can also take a public bus from Sea-Tac Airport to downtown Seattle. The Central Link Light Rail runs between Westlake Station in downtown Seattle and Tukwila International Boulevard Station near Sea-Tac Airport. Buses run approximately every 10 minutes during peak hours and take about 45 minutes to reach Westlake Station. From there you can either walk or take a bus or taxi to your final destination at Pier 66 or Pier 91.

In conclusion, it is possible to get from Sea-Tac Airport to the cruise ship terminal in downtown Seattle via taxi, light rail or bus. Depending on your preference and budget, you can choose whichever option works best for you. The journey should take no more than 45 minutes and will bring you directly to your destination at Pier 66 or Pier 91.
