Is Blue Whale Bigger Than Cruise Ship?

By Anna Duncan

The size of the blue whale is often a topic of debate among people, especially when it comes to comparing them with cruise ships. It’s no wonder, given that the blue whale is the largest animal on Earth!

Blue whales can reach lengths of up to 30 metres and weigh up to 173 tonnes. That’s much larger than the average cruise ship which typically range from around 70-90 metres in length and weigh anywhere from 40,000-100,000 tonnes.

The size of a blue whale can also vary depending on its age and gender – male blue whales tend to be slightly larger than females. Despite their large size, however, they are incredibly graceful underwater creatures that can swim at speeds of up to 18 km/h.

Cruise ships on the other hand are designed for luxury travel with amenities such as swimming pools, spas, gyms and movie theatres. They are also equipped with powerful engines that allow them to sail at speeds of up to 22 knots (40 km/h).

Conclusion:

In conclusion, it is clear that blue whales are much larger than cruise ships in terms of physical size. However, cruise ships have more features and capabilities that make them better suited for human travel than the majestic blue whale.
