Is Noah’s Ark Bigger Than a Cruise Ship?

By Michael Ferguson

Noah’s Ark is one of the most famous biblical stories, and has been the subject of much debate. In the story, God tells Noah to build an ark in order to save his family and two of every kind of animal from a great flood. This ark is said to be 300 cubits long (about 450 feet or 137 meters), 50 cubits wide (about 75 feet or 23 meters), and 30 cubits high (about 45 feet or 14 meters).

This size has led many people to wonder if Noah’s ark could actually have been bigger than a cruise ship. It’s important to note that modern cruise ships are built with modern materials and techniques, while the ark was built by Noah and his sons using materials available in the ancient world. This means that the ark would not have been able to withstand rough seas like modern ships can.

The size of Noah’s ark would have been impressive for its time, but it is not nearly as large as most modern cruise ships. The largest passenger ship ever constructed was Royal Caribbean’s ‘Oasis of the Seas’, which measures 361 metres in length, 66 metres in width and 72 metres in height – making it over three times larger than Noah’s Ark!

Cruise ships also have much more elaborate features than Noah’s Ark ever did. Modern cruise ships are equipped with luxurious cabins, restaurants, swimming pools, movie theaters and even ice skating rinks! While these amenities weren’t available on board the Ark, its size made it possible for it to carry enough food and supplies for all its passengers for a long journey across the sea.

So while it may be impressive that a vessel as old as Noah’s Ark could hold so many passengers, animals and supplies at once – it simply cannot compare with today’s massive cruise ships when it comes to size. Conclusion: Overall, it is clear that although Noah’s Ark was impressive for its time, it is much smaller than a modern-day cruise ship.

The largest passenger ship ever constructed was over three times larger than Noah’s Ark! Cruise ships also offer many more amenities which were not available on board the Ark – making them far more luxurious than their ancient counterpart. Therefore, we can conclude that yes – cruise ships are indeed bigger than Noah’s Ark.
