With all the amenities they offer, they provide a great way to explore different parts of the world in a luxurious and comfortable way. Unfortunately, cruise ship accidents do occur from time to time.

The most recent accident is believed to have occurred in 2018, when the Costa Concordia capsized off the coast of Isola del Giglio in Italy. The tragedy was caused when the captain deviated from his planned course and steered towards an island, which resulted in a collision with an underwater rock shelf. As a result, 32 people lost their lives and numerous others were injured.

The Costa Concordia saw its first signs of trouble when it began taking on water near Giglio Island.
