Did I Ever Tell You About the Time I Was Backpacking Through Western Europe?

By Anna Duncan

I remember it like it was yesterday, the excitement I felt when I decided to embark on my first backpacking trip through Western Europe. I had heard stories of the culture, the food and the beautiful landscapes, and I was determined to get out there and experience it all for myself.

So I packed my trusty backpack and off I went! First stop – Paris.

The city of love. There is nothing quite like walking along the cobbled streets of Montmarte, admiring the old buildings, taking in the smells of freshly baked croissants and pain au chocolate. One highlight was definitely climbing up to the top of Sacre Coeur Basilica in Montmarte – an unforgettable view!

From Paris, I hopped on a train to Cologne in Germany, where I spent a couple of days exploring its famous cathedral. The architecture is breathtaking and I felt so small standing in front of it! A must-see for anyone visiting this beautiful city.

Next came Amsterdam – a city full of culture and art. One of my favourite memories from here was taking a canal cruise at night – you get to see Amsterdam from a whole different perspective at night!

My last stop on my backpacking journey was Brussels.

I absolutely loved this city – so much history and amazing food. From waffles to fries with over 20 different sauces – there is something for everyone!

All in all, my backpacking trip through Western Europe was one of the best experiences of my life. It opened up my eyes to different cultures, cuisines and landscapes – all within such close proximity.

It certainly won’t be forgotten anytime soon!

Conclusion: Did I Ever Tell You About the Time I Was Backpacking Through Western Europe? Yes, yes I did!

And what an amazing experience it was. From Paris to Cologne, Amsterdam to Brussels – each city had something unique to offer that left me with unforgettable memories.
