Did I Tell You About the Time I Went Backpacking Through Western Europe?

By Robert Palmer

It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I traveled to seven countries in a matter of weeks, traveling from city to city, each with its own unique culture and beauty.

My journey began in Amsterdam, Netherlands, where I instantly fell in love with the city’s canals, colorful buildings and world-renowned art museums. From there I took a train to Belgium to explore all the historic cities like Bruges and Brussels as well as some of the smaller towns that had a more rural feel.

Next up was France and what a delight it was! Although Paris was my primary destination, I made sure to visit some lesser known gems such as Nice and Montpellier. Here I experienced French culture at its finest; from delicious food to breathtaking landscapes.

After France, it was off to Spain where I spent time in Barcelona, Madrid and Seville. Every place offered something different; incredible architecture in Barcelona, vibrant nightlife in Madrid and beautiful beaches in Seville.

The next stop was Portugal which had a very unique culture compared to the other countries I visited. The cities were smaller but no less beautiful and impressive than its neighbors; especially Porto with its cobblestone streets and picturesque bridges over the Douro River.

I also visited Germany which had an interesting mix of history and modernity. Berlin particularly stood out for me due to its numerous monuments from WWII as well as its bustling nightlife scene.

My trip concluded with a visit to Switzerland where the stunning views of the Alps were unforgettable! In addition to sightseeing, I enjoyed some excellent skiing opportunities here before heading back home.

Overall, my experience traveling through Western Europe was truly life changing! From exploring new cultures to enjoying breathtaking scenery, this trip allowed me to truly appreciate all that this part of the world has to offer.

Conclusion:

There is no doubt that my backpacking journey through Western Europe will be remembered for many years! Not only did it afford me an opportunity to explore seven unique countries but it also gave me an insight into different cultures which further enriched my travel experience.
