Did I Tell You About That Time I Went Backpacking Through Western Europe?

By Anna Duncan

I have always wanted to travel the world, to explore new places and soak up different cultures. Little did I know, my dream was about to come true. I went backpacking through Western Europe for three months and it was an incredible experience!

It all started with a simple plan – make my way from France to Italy, then Greece, and finally end in Spain. It seemed like an ambitious venture at first, but I was determined to make it happen. As I began to prepare for the journey ahead of me, I started to realize just how much this adventure would change me.

The first place I visited was Paris; the City of Lights. There was so much beauty and culture to experience that it took my breath away. From the Louvre Museum to Notre Dame Cathedral and everything in between, there were countless sights that made me feel like I had stepped into a different world.

From Paris I made my way down south towards Italy. One of the most memorable experiences happened when I arrived in Rome – it felt like time had stopped as soon as we crossed the city limits and nothing felt more surreal than standing in front of the Colosseum!

My next destination was Greece; a country full of ancient ruins and breathtaking beaches. From Athens’ Acropolis Hill to Santorini’s picturesque sunsets – every day felt like a dream!

Finally, after months of travelling through Western Europe, it was time for me to reach my final destination – Spain! From Barcelona’s famous Gothic Quarter to Madrid’s bustling streets, this country felt so alive with energy that it made me want to stay forever!
