Where Is the Apex Cruise Ship Now?

By Alice Nichols

The Apex cruise ship was a passenger vessel that operated from 1984 to 2013. It was built in Finland and registered in the Bahamas. The ship had a capacity of 1,500 passengers and 530 crew members, making it one of the largest cruise ships of its time.

The Apex had a wide variety of amenities and services available on board, including several restaurants, a cinema, lounges, swimming pools and spa facilities. It also offered a range of activities such as dance classes, seminars and live entertainment.

The ship sailed around the world during its lifetime, visiting places such as the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and South America. Its last voyage was from Naples to Barcelona in 2013 before it was retired from service due to age and rising maintenance costs.

Since then it has been sold to a private company who planned to convert it into an entertainment venue for special occasions but this never came to fruition due to changes in ownership and financial issues. The current owner is believed to be based in Canada but their identity is not known publicly.

Due to its age, the Apex would need significant investment before it could be returned to service as a cruise ship again so this seems unlikely at this time. As such, the fate of the Apex remains uncertain at present but it is thought that it may be scrapped in the near future due to its deteriorating condition and lack of interest from potential buyers or investors.

Where Is the Apex Cruise Ship Now? The Apex cruise ship is currently owned by an unknown entity based in Canada but it is not currently operating as a passenger vessel due to its age and high maintenance costs required for upkeep. Despite attempts by previous owners, there have been no successful bids or investments made towards reviving the ship as an entertainment venue or otherwise so its future remains uncertain at this time.
