On July 5th, 2019, a tragedy unfolded in the Caribbean Sea. A woman fell from a Carnival Cruise Ship off the coast of Puerto Rico. This shocking event has left many people wondering who the woman was and how she could have fallen overboard.

The woman has been identified as 39-year-old Tiffany Leeann Schoen of Fort Worth, Texas. She had been on board the Carnival Elation with her husband and two sons, both under ten years old. According to witnesses, Schoen had been in an argument with her husband just before she disappeared.

The U.S. Coast Guard searched for over 30 hours before they suspended their search on July 8th. The Coast Guard stated that they had searched over 3,500 square nautical miles without any sign of Schoen.

Schoen’s family is devastated by her unexpected death and are struggling to make sense of what happened. They released a statement saying:

“We are heartbroken by the news of Tiffany’s passing and we want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”

The tragedy is still under investigation by the Coast Guard and Carnival Cruise Lines but it appears that no foul play was involved in Schoen’s death. It is believed that she may have accidentally fallen overboard while leaning over a railing.

Tiffany Leeann Schoen was a beloved wife, mother, daughter and friend whose memory will live on through her family and friends. Her loss is devastating but hopefully her story can serve as a reminder for all travelers to be aware of their surroundings when aboard cruise ships.
