There are tons of great snacks to choose from, but it’s important to pick ones that are nutritious, convenient, and don’t take up too much space in your pack. Here are five of the best snacks for backpacking trips:

Trail Mix

Trail mix is a classic snack for hikers and backpackers because it’s easy to make, transportable, and packed with protein and healthy fats. You can buy pre-made mixes from the store or make one with your favorite ingredients like nuts, dried fruits, chocolate chips, and cereal. For an extra nutritional boost, try adding seeds like pumpkin or sunflower.
