Which Carnival Cruise Ship Has a Roller Coaster?

By Michael Ferguson

Carnival Cruise Lines has become one of the most popular cruise companies in the world, with a fleet of more than 100 ships that visit dozens of ports around the globe. For those looking for a unique experience, Carnival offers several ships that feature a roller coaster.

Carnival Vista is one of the company’s newest vessels, and it has arguably the most impressive roller coaster at sea. The SkyRide is an 800-foot long suspended track that winds its way around two decks of the ship and offers stunning views of the ocean and coastline below. The ride features two cars per track, so riders can race each other to the finish line.

Carnival Magic also features a thrilling roller coaster ride, albeit on a much smaller scale. The Carnival Magic WaterWorks is located on top deck and features several waterslides, including a looping “Corkscrew” waterslide and a “Boomerango” slide which drops riders down into an enclosed bowl before spitting them back out into the pool below.

Carnival Breeze has another waterslide experience with its Twister Waterslide, which is 81 feet tall and features twists, turns and steep drops before spilling riders into an enclosed pool at the end. Unlike other slides on this list though, this one is not considered to be a roller coaster ride.

Carnival Horizon rounds out this list with its SkyRide attraction. This version of SkyRide is slightly shorter than its counterpart on Carnival Vista, clocking in at 600 feet long instead of 800 feet. It also only has one car per track instead of two like on Carnival Vista but still provides stunning views all around.

The conclusion here is that there are currently four Carnival Cruise Ships that feature roller coasters: Carnival Vista with its 800-foot long SkyRide; Carnival Magic with its WaterWorks; and Carnival Horizon with its 600-foot long SkyRide; while Carnival Breeze has an exciting Twister Waterslide but it’s not considered to be a roller coaster ride.
