Which Cruise Ship Has a Roller Coaster?

By Alice Nichols

The cruise industry has seen an influx of new and exciting activities over the past few years. From zip-lining to rock-climbing, there are plenty of activities to keep passengers entertained on their voyage. One of the most recent additions to the cruise ship experience is a roller coaster.

Currently, the only cruise ships with a roller coaster on board are Royal Caribbean’s Oasis-class ships. Launched in 2009, these ships featured the first roller coaster at sea. The 40-meter long track winds around the ship and reaches speeds of up to 40 miles per hour.

The coaster also features two loops and a vertical drop, making it a thrilling ride for passengers.

Although Royal Caribbean is leading the charge in this area, other cruise lines have begun to follow suit. Norwegian Cruise Line recently announced that their upcoming Norwegian Joy will feature a two-level go-kart track as well as an open-air laser tag arena on its top deck.

In addition to these attractions, some cruise lines are offering virtual reality experiences as well as movie theaters with 3D capabilities for passengers to enjoy during their voyage. It’s clear that the future of cruising is an exciting one full of thrilling experiences that make each trip even more memorable than before.

Conclusion:

Currently, only Royal Caribbean’s Oasis-class ships feature a roller coaster on board but other cruise lines are beginning to add similar attractions such as go-karts and virtual reality experiences to provide passengers with an even more thrilling experience while onboard.
